As promised, here comes the second travel review about my maldives trip which took part end of november/beginning of december last year. Some days ago I already reviewed my stay at the stunning Finolhu Resort, now I want to tell you more about my stay at Amilla Fushi, which is actually the sister island of Finolhu. You can reach Amilla by sea plane from the main island Male (takes around 30 min) or if you want to do kinda island hopping, like we did, you can also reach Amilla by speed boat from Finolhu, it takes only around 20 minutes. Amilla Fushi can be translated with "my Island home" and this really describes the feeling that you have while staying there... you'll feel like home, and the staff will make everything that is in their power to make you feel comfortable and relaxed, so you can enjoy your time on the island to the fullest. The island is located in the UNESCO-protected biosphere of the Baa Atoll, you can expect breathtaking shades of blue there, it's beyond words and looks like real-life-photoshop ;) On the Island you'll have a choice of different Villa types to choose from (See all listed here) In case you want to stay there with a huge group of friends or with your family, Amilla offers large residences with up to 8 bedrooms! We stayed in the so called Lagoon House, which offers stunning sunset views, 200m² space in total, an outdoor rain shower, a large swimming pool and direct access to the sea. It was so much fun to jump right into the ocean from our terrace, we loved to snorkle there and explore the maldivian underwater world. There are, in general, lots of (water) activities that you can try while your stay... You can dive, go on a sunset cruise (incl. champagne and some snacks - really loved this experience!) or you can play volleyball on the beach, play football or badminton, do yoga in the yoga pavilion (alone or in a group) or you could play tennis (Amilla has partnered with LUX Tennis, which provides professional tennis coaches)... As you can see there is so much to do and to explore on the island! Beside these activities you can also book special experiences like a "sandbank experience", wine and cheese tasting in the wine cellar aso... It's not gonna get boring, trust me! Amilla is the perfect symbiosis of relaxation and fun activities. But one thing that should be mentioned here as well is of course the food. You have so many different restaurants where you can eat, it is simply amazing, there is a choice for everyone and for every taste. Just to mention a few here: The Barolo Grill: Fine italian kitchen with indoor and outdoor sitting and an amazing selection of great wines. WOK: Asian flavours, for example spicy thai salads, dim sum, noodle soups, curries aso. Feeling Koi: Surrounded by the sea, you can enjoy culinary magic there while eating on an open deck. Feeling Koi is Amilla's signature restaurant and serves minimal japanese cuisine. The Emperor Beach Club: We always used to go there for lunch and enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere there and the live music entertainment. You can order a la carte there and also enjoy the huge buffet as well. And when I say huge I mean huge! You have the biggest choice of food there, it was literally food heaven I can tell you! :) To get a detailed overview about the different restaurants / bars on the island just have a look here. Another thing I don't want to left unspoken is the Javuu Spa! It's right in the middle of the island and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The Spa is by the way winner of the Spa World Luxury Awards 2018. I think that speaks for itself... ;) Next to the Spa you'll find the gym, and also a barber, nail salon and a hair/beauty lounge. As you can see Amilla offers everything for a perfect holiday which you will never forget, that is for sure!
